Implementing Ideas Is The Only Way You Are Going To Make Money
By Stu McLaren | August 7, 2008
I want to share with you a piece of advice that I received from my good friend Armand Morin.
Previously to this piece of advice I had been gaining tremendous value from the information from various online mentors, but I had yet to gain any financial rewards. This piece of advice completely changed that.
Using this piece of advise I was able to generate over $111,000 in revenue on one project in less than eight weeks.
This is what Armand told me -
I had all these new ideas for products and services that I wanted to put together as one big package. I was really excited about its possibilities.
I sat down with Armand and I opened up my laptop and I booted up my Mind Mapping software and I started to show him all my new ideas. Man, I was excited.
“Stop right there” is how Armand responded. He took my mouse and closed my Mind Mapping Software.
He said, “Stu, it doesn’t matter how many ideas you generate, you’re only going to make money on the ones that are implemented. Focus on the implementation.” Write that down - focus on the implementation.
People aren’t going to buy just an idea. They are more likely to buy something they can see, feel, hear or experience. If you are only thinking about the money, that won’t help either because it is the finished idea that will bring the sales, not just the idea.
A great example of this was when John Reese launched Traffic Secrets. He sent physical copies to a targeted list of high-level affiliates well in advance. Why did he send them physical copies? Because when people see your ideas in a finished form, they clearly see the value that it provides versus trying to describe it to them.
Implementation is crucial for everyone to focus on. Money can’t be made until an idea is completed and you have a finished product.
When I was with Armand that day after he closed down my mind map, he got on the Internet and showed me a couple of his sites that are already selling products. Then he turned to me and said, “Okay Stu, now seeing that, I want to buy something from you. Where can I go to do this?”
I had no answer for him. Why? All of the steps I should have completed inorder to make money online I didn’t have completed. I didn’t have my big idea completed into a product. I didn’t have my completed products and services up for sale. I didn’t have any way for people to opt-in for more information, any auto responders set up, I didn’t have a sales letter. I didn’t even have my shopping cart set up. No where could people buy from me.
That afternoon with Armand really opened my eyes. He taught me instantly that it is only with a finished idea that you can make money, not the amount of ideas you may have.
What can you do to get your service or product out to your costumer base? Hopefully this got you thinking about it.
You can have the greatest idea in the world but until you implement it, your business is not going to see a single cent for it!
