WoW Gold Secrets – 5 Easy Tricks

We all know that in WoW, the experience tends to come in a bit faster than gold. This can be kind of costly, forcing players to miss out on new pieces of gear, enchants, glyphs, and sometimes even mounts. Obviously, you want to be able to keep yourself in the best possible condition in-game as possible, right? Well, these WoW gold secrets will get you on track.

1. Loot everything. This is one of the most common gold-making mistakes I see players making. Gray and white items, commonly known as vendor trash, add up to a very large percentage of your income while leveling or running instances. If you have room in your bag, loot it. If it’s vendor trash, sell it to your local merchant, and if it is green or better put it up on the auction house. Invest in the best bags you can afford so you never have to pass up free loot.

2. If you can’t use any of the quest rewards, choose the weapon or plate. As a rule, this will net you a better vendor price, though there are some exceptions. When in doubt, don’t hesitate to check Wowhead.com. 1 or 2 gold per quest can really add up in Outland and Northrend. If multiple weapons are available, keep in mind that 2 handers usually sell for more than 1 handers, which usually sell for more than ranged weapons. If multiple armor pieces are available, legs, chests, shoulders, and helms are usually valued in that order.

3. Make use of gathering professions. Extensive use, in fact. With this tip alone you can net double the gold of people who don’t gather. Even just grabbing stuff on the way while you are questing or exploring is enough to give you a solid income. I’ve found mining to get the best results, but skinning and herbalism do decently as well. Taking mining and skinning together is a surefire way to keep yourself stocked on gold.

4. Break down stacks of cloth and sell them individually. It takes a bit of time, but you can get some very good cash from it. I personally like to double the price per unit of the cloth and fill up the first two to four pages. Since most people are lazy, they will just buy your cloth rather than skipping through the pages trying to find full stacks. On top of that, you’ll also make sales from professions that don’t need whole stacks of cloth buying one or two pieces here and there.

5. Quest until you run out of quests, then quest some more. This is absolutely crucial for keeping the gold rolling in. There are plenty of opportunities to do quests on your way to instances or other quests, especially with the amount of daily quests in Wrath of the Lich King. Once you hit the cap, you’ve got that handy little experience to gold conversion thing too, so following this rule is kind of a no-brainer.
