New York is known to be the melting pot of many cultures and this is what makes the “Big Apple” distinctly unique that draws in a big crowd. At every corner you can see someobody on tour simply because there are so many New York attractions to visit.

If you’re a person who digs modernist art, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is definitely the place for you. It holds the works of influential American artists and the best collection of modern Western masterpieces in the world. The museum houses a vast number of architectural designs, sculptures, over 300,000 books, around 150,000 individual paintings and drawings, and approximately 22,000 films. The MoMA’s collection of an unparalleled overview of modern and contemporary art make it the most influential museum of modern art in the whole world.

Some world famous artists and their brilliant works which can be found in the Museum of Modern Art are Reflection of Clouds on the Water-Lily Pond by the French impressionist Claud Monet, The Spanish painter, draughtsman, and sculptor Pablo Picasso’s Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, a Greek-Italian painter Giorgio De Chirico’s Love Song, and another French artist Henri Matisse with his The Plum Blossoms. There is also photography and design from legendary designers here.

From its modest beginnings of rented quarters in 1929, the MoMA has then long played an important role in developing and collecting modernist art. Now, the MoMA even has its own award-winning fine dining restaurant named The Modern.

Aside from the MoMA, there are many other New York Attractions to visit. An example is the Empire State Building. Over 110 million people already visited this 102 story land mark and the count still continues. This is the tallest building in the state of New York with its state of the art outdoor observatories that has an impressive 360 view of the whole city.

Another one of the great New York attractions to visit is the American Museum of Natural History – one of the largest and most celebrated museums in the world because of its many great exhibits. The museum is known for its Rose Center and Planetarium, The Art of the Diorama which recreates nature, Hall of Meteorites, and the famous Fossil Halls containing the fossils of a mammoth, a Tyrannosaurus rex, and a few other extinct mammals and dinosaurs.

New York also offers other museums such as the The Cloisters. This is the museum which contains thousands of European medieval works of art. Another attraction is the Guggenheim Museum which also holds 20th and 21st century art, impressionist, post-impressionist, early modern and contemporary art. And of course, the attraction which would make New York worse off of it without, the grand world-famous Statue of Liberty.

Your visit to NYC will never be complete without dropping by the MoMA and a visit to the other New York attractions. You’ve never seen NYC until you see these fabulous places!

What would New York City be without the MoMA? The next time you are searching for New York attractions to see, make sure you stop by this wonderful museum to see it for yourself.
